Try and see:
1.  [Peter and I] are good friends.  _______ go to the library every day.
2.  You are Mary.  _______ are an obedient girl.

5.  The children are happy.  _________ are excited, too in the playground.

Note:
P1 is used as subject of the sentence and followed by verb.  Let call it Subject Personal Pronouns for easy reference.  Personal pronouns are words we use to replace nouns.

‘Am / is / are’ can be followed by a noun phrase, an adjective or an adverb of place /time /a prepositional phrase indicating place / time

I am a pupil.

Maria is a nurse.
She is kind and good.
She is at home now.
It is Monday today.
